My Tour Of Tiara - A Full-Service Super Yacht For Adventure & Entertainment
After a long, quiet, and quite frankly boring three months of quarantine, things are getting busy here at EliteLYFE towers as we are inundated with requests for availability and pricing on our luxury tourism packages.
Interest in our worldwide collection of private villas has been strong due to the absolute security of residing in an expansive, full-service estate. However, we’ve also noted a significant increase in the number of travelers inquiring about super yacht charters.
This makes perfect sense. There’s no better way to practice social distancing than being surrounded by the ocean! With that in mind, I wanted to share with you a four-day experience I had aboard what I consider to be one of the most beautiful yachts I’ve ever seen, Tiara.
Tiara is a sailing super yacht that measures a generous 54.27 meters in length (178 feet). She was built by New Zealand-based firm Alloy Yachts in 2004 and was refitted in 2019. Tiara is owned by Canadian billionaire, Guy Laliberté, who is one of the co-founders of Cirque du Soleil.
Tiara is certainly a jeweled crown, fit for a queen, however, in Swahili, the name means “kite” and boy can she fly! Her maximum speed is 14.8 knots and she feels supremely stable and has very responsive handling. All in all, Tiara is a sailor’s dream.
Tiara has five luxury cabins that can host a total of up to twelve guests and comes with ten crew members. Upon arriving at the yacht, I was made to feel like a VIP as I boarded. I was greeted with wet towels and fresh drinks as the crew took care of my luggage.
After the initial pleasantries were over, I was given a tour of the vessel and was greeted by each member of the crew, including the captain. This gave me a sense of importance as they were all essentially there to fulfill my needs, providing first-class service and entertainment with acute attention to detail.
I’ve experienced top-level service on my travels, but never have I felt so well taken care of while at sea. The kitchen team seemed to consistently surprise us with fresh snacks just when we needed them. The multi-course lunches and dinners we ate aboard Tiara were nothing short of exceptional. The setting, magical.
The crew seemed to intuitively know when we wanted cold drinks or refreshments but it never felt like they were encroaching on our space. Yes, the invisible hand of service is very important in a smaller space. The staff on Tiara got the balance just right.
Tiara is fully loaded with a complete range of toys and water sports equipment including a tender, wakeboards, water skis, kayaks, paddleboards, windsurfers, and kitesurfing equipment. The crew includes a licensed kitesurf instructor who is only too happy to teach you the basics of this new and popular sport.
Tiara’s entertainment facilities include a 4x4-meter Bedouin tent with an outdoor cinema, a hot tub, and an on-deck DJ setup. The flybridge has a retractable sun awning, a full dining table, and is serviced by a wet bar.
While the exterior of Tiara is truly a feat of excellent engineering and first-rate luxury design, the interior of the yacht is also of an exceptionally high standard. An 11-meter beam (36 feet) creates a spacious interior that is finished and decorated with outstanding craftsmanship.
The interior of Tiara was completed by award-winning yacht designer, John Munford, who created a space that is elegant, traditional, and grand. The yacht features genuine 1930’s Art Deco-style detailing throughout, including flamed mahogany, leather, and lacquer.
On the inside, Tiara feels more like a traditional country manor rather than a modern sailing yacht. It’s like a private gentleman’s club from some bygone era. In fact, the light fittings were actually reclaimed from a New York City library from the early 1900’s.
All of the five cabins in Tiara are generously spaced and beautifully finished. The master suite takes advantage of the full beam, creating a wide living space, and is split over two levels. It has a king-sized bed, a private salon, and a stunning marble bathroom.
All of the cabins in Tiara have their own style, which is defined by a color and features a specific type of stone. I stayed in the blue room, which made use of onyx as the main theme of its central decor.
I have to admit, I slept very well on Tiara. She’s notoriously a supremely stable yacht due to her large keel and I found the gentle swaying of the boat to be nothing but relaxing.
Tiara is available for charter with prices ranging from 180,000 euros per week and has a flexible “no penalty” cancellation policy. She’s currently in the south of France for the summer and can be taken to a variety of locations around the Mediterranean Sea including the French Riviera, the Italian Riviera, the Spanish Balearic Islands, the Greek mainland and islands, and the Croatian coastline.
If you would like further information on chartering Tiara, please feel free to contact EliteLYFE at your convenience. If you want to see more of Tiara and take a look at my four-day trip aboard her, check out this video from our time in the Caribbean.
